EXPRESSIONS: Victorian Names and Clothing Reference

I found a website containing Victorian names by doing a google search. Here is the link to the list I found most helpful and also the names I liked best.

Jasper
Jaspers

Arnold

John
Mordecai
Benedict
Bartholomew

After some consideration,  I will be going with a combination of Jasper and Mordecai for my tiger. His full name will be Mr Jasper Mordecai, an old gentlemanly tiger, residing in London. His favourite pastimes when he is not out on important business, is lounging in his dressing gown by the fire, smoking a pipe in the comfort of his personal library. It is there where he is most content.

When designing his wardrobe, I found some very helpful information on this website.

It contains a lot of information on the types of clothes I wanted Jasper to wear, including trousers, coats and accessories. I want my character be quite a fashionable, well dressed kind of person when out and about, so in his original designs I have given him striped trousers, as was the norm in Victorian times and a smart coat with a bow tie.

Elbow patches are my favourite addition to clothing, so I wanted to include them on my character. I looked at jackets like this one for reference when drawing them.

After some thought about my character and the setting I would be animating him in, I decided to look at Victorian Men's dressing gowns. I was partially influenced by Sherlock Holmes to do this, who is well known for sitting in one of his many dressing gowns, puffing on a pipe. So the decision to animate Jasper in a dressing gown in his study is homage the famous Victorian detective.
